An extensive and breathtaking new mural now spans the walls of MLA Ellis Ross’s office by the City Centre Mall in Kitimat.
Painted by Terrace artist Casey Braam, the mural depicts salmon swimming up a river with a forested mountain range in the distance.
Around the corner from there, on the narrow front side of the bulding, a bear is featured looking back towards the street.
Braam completed the mural for the Kitimat Public Art Alliance in less than a week, after arriving in Kitimat to start the work on July 18th.
Community members came together to provide meals for Braam throughout the week, as he completed the work.
It’s the second mural completed by the Alliance, who were granted $20,000 by the District last year to go towards painting vibrant new murals.
