One driver probably wishes he left the cap on the bottle, and the stolen firearm at home, before hitting the roads in Masset last month.
RCMP hit their mark, and then some, when they pulled the driver over on May 20th as part of a campaign targeting impaired drivers.
During the stop, officers observed both the driver and passengers of the vehicle committing violations of the liquor control and licensing act.
Further investigation uncovered a loaded handgun in the car, which was confirmed to have been stolen from another province.
Four individuals were arrested as a result, with one being held in custody for failing to comply with a current court order.
Officers issued the driver of the vehicle a 24 hour driving prohibition and had the vehicle impounded.
An investigation is on-going and anyone with information is asked to contact Masset RCMP at 250 626 3991.
