A total of $30 million in fresh provincial grant funding is being invested in to the continued improvement of watersheds in BC.
Split between seven organizations, the funding will help to restore and maintain ecosystems and watershed health, support climate resiliency, support the organizations in meeting local mandates, and maintain and create jobs.
Half of the funding will go to Watersheds BC through the MakeWay Foundation to co-ordinate restoration projects led or co-led by First Nations.
Six organizations will split the other half of the funding to support watershed restoration, reconciliation, and partnerships across levels of government.
Those organizations include: the BC Wildlife Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Living Lakes Canada, Redd Fish Restoration Society, Farmland Advantage, and the Rivershed Society of BC.
