A new program launched by the federal government will support the development of ecological corridors between protected and conservation areas.
Ecological corridors are stretched of land between a park and the surrounding natural landscape, which promote the safe movement of wildlife between habitats.
Lead by Parks Canada, the National Program will see Ottawa invest $60.6 million over the next 5 years.
Through that funding, organizations and jurisdictions will be able to responsibly develop liveable communities that co-exist with nature and give it the best chance to thrive.
