Prince George RCMP have arrested a man for burning rubber, but not while driving.
At roughly 7:00 Sunday morning, police were called out to the 600 block of Third Avenue for reports of a tire fire.
When they arrived, they found a stack of tires on fire, with the flames threatening to ignite power lines in the area.
After helping to clear the area and extinguish the fire, officers took to reviewing surveillance footage.
They noticed a suspect wearing distinct clothing, and were able to locate the man nearby not long after.
25 year-old Ulysses Nicholas was arrested on one charge of arson, which the BC Prosecution Service has now approved.
