Premier John Horgan has been diagnosed with Covid-19, just under three months after his return from cancer treatment.
Horgan took to Twitter this morning to make the announcement, but says his symptoms are mild, and thanks his fully vaccinated status.
In November, Horgan began undergoing treatment for throat cancer, after a growth in his throat was discovered.
Those who have undergone cancer treatment are at a heightened risk to catch Covid, and have a higher chance at experiencing more severe symptoms.
The news comes as the province prepares to remove their final set of major restrictions next week, with an announcement from Dr Bonnie Henry and Minister Adrian Dix expected tomorrow.
