Premier John Horgan announced today that BC will begin creating a Hydrogen Office as a part of the province’s Hydrogen Strategy.
This office will exist as a standalone group in the government and its main goal will be to work with both the federal and local governments to attract provincial investments and help simplify permitting processes.
The office’s creation also fulfills a major goal of the Stronger BC Economic Plan and is part of the 40 hydrogen projects that have been proposed or approved province-wide.
Estimates have also shown that if BC continues down the positive road they are on with their Hydrogen projects, the province could own a $305 billion portion of the global hydrogen market by 2050.
During the announcement, Jobs Minister Ravi Kahlon stated that Hydrogen Development can help BC reach its climate change commitments.
