Vulnerable individuals and families in the Houston area will soon have better access to social services.
Thanks to $45,000 in provincial grant funding, a situation table made up of representatives in health, public safety, and social services is coming to Houston.
Members will work to proactively identify vulnerable individuals or families who have a heightened risk of committing crimes, or experiencing harm or victimization.
From there, they will look to rapidly connect them to the appropriate services before they experience a negative or traumatic event.
There are currently 15 situation tables operating in BC, with plans to add 9 more in the works.
