Two days of Hoobiyee celebrations kick off this afternoon in the Village of Gitwinksihlkw.
Doors open at the Ts’oohl Ts’ap (T-s-all T-Sap) Memorial Centre at 4:00 this afternoon, with the Grand Entry starting an hour later.
Between 6:00 and 9:00 this evening, four groups of dancers will take the stage: the Gitwinksihlkw Four Crest Dancers, Laxgalts’ap Cultural Dancers, Gingolx Cultural Dancers, and the Gitlaxt’aamiks Ceremonial Dancers.
Full capacity will be allowed for the event, though vaccine cards are required for access.
Celebrations will kick off again at 2:00 tomorrow afternoon, with the Grand Finale and ceremonial handing over of the Moon starting at 9:00 that night.
