Last month, Telkwa Coal made progress in their quest to re-establish themselves in the Bulkley Nechako.
They have now filled out and submitted their application for an Environmental Assessment Certificate, albeit more than a year past the initial target date.
Now, the company will have to wait for at least 9 months as the province looks over their application and determines its approval eligibility.
If the application goes through, Telkwa Coal says they expect their operation to last 20 years and create 170 full time direct jobs and 255 indirect jobs.
If approved, the company is projecting a start date sometime in 2026.
