While they may have overestimated a bit on the snowfall totals yesterday, that isn’t stopping Environment Canada from doubling down on the winter storm warnings today.
Terrace, Kitimat, Bella Coola, and the Central Coast are all facing winter storm warnings, with snowfall expected to be between 20 and 30 cms, and temperatures nearing -20.
Both the Bulkley Valley and the Cariboo are facing snowfall warnings, with up to 20 cm and 30 cm expected, respectively.
And the Peace North is looking at an extreme cold warning, with temperatures dropping below -40, while the Peace South sees up to 15 cms of snow.
Compact snow and ice is covering the majority of Highway 16 between Smithers and Prince Rupert, and Highway 37 is facing slippery conditions between Kitimat and Terrace, and the whole of Highway 37a.
