Minimum wage is going up in the new year for federally regulated private sectore employees in Canada.
Raising the minimum wage to 15 dollars and hour was a key piece of Canada’s 2021 Budget.
Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that, beginning December 29th, all federally regulated employees in Canada’s private sector will be making at least 15 dollars an hour.
In addition, beginning next year, the federal minimum wage will be adjusted annually on April 1st based on the Consumer Price Index.
