Passenger fees at the Quesnel Airport will continue to be waived until at least next March.
City Council voted yesterday to extend the program, which had been put in place last year due to Covid.
But, while flights have increased, Central Mountain Air says that they are still struggling to break even financially.
Flights from Quesnel were suspended for nearly 15 months beginning last April, followed by the decision to waive the 20 dollar fees.
Federal and provincial level Covid and airport relief funds are expected to cover the airport’s expenses through March of next year.
