British Columbia has announced the more than 1,300 parent advisory councils set to benefit from this year’s Community Gaming Grants.
In total, more than 11 million dollars will be distributed to go towards supporting extracurricular activities for students during the 2021-22 school year.
PAC groups utilize the funds to put on events and purchase the equipment needed for various clubs and groups.
Councils across the northwest in Burns Lake, the Hazeltons, Houston, Kitimat, Terrace, Prince Rupert, Quesnel, Smithers, and more, will all benefit from the funding.
Some communities seeing the most benefits are Terrace, which will see 9 groups split more than 100 thousand in funding, and Quesnel which will spread 90 thousand across 10 groups.
Prince Rupert will see 3 councils receive 13 thousand in funding, while Kitimat will net 28 thousand in funds across 3 recipients.
