A collision which closed Highway 97 for two hours near Fort St John yesterday has resulted in the death of one driver.
Emergency crews responded to the crash near the intersection with Pingle Creek Road, south of Taylor, just before 4:00 in the afternoon.
A Jeep and a Dodge pick-up had collided with each other head-on, leaving the occupants of both vehicles trapped.
Both drivers required extraction from their vehicles and were transported to hospital once free, with the driver of the Jeep being declared dead shortly after arrival.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, though road conditions were reportedly poor at the time of the incident.
