Prior to the pandemic, tourism in Quesnel was on the rise, up 21 percent in 2019, compared to the year before.
But, as with most areas, Covid put a damper on those numbers, something a recently launched website is playing its part in correcting.
A partnership between the City and Upanup, a digital marketing company, has birthed the new Tourism Quesnel website.
Through the “Plan My Trip” tool, visitors are able to plan every aspect of their trips ahead of time.
Combined with features allowing locals to submit events, and itinerary suggestion tools, the website has already seen significant traffic.
It has seen a 440 percent increase in visitorships over its predecessor, and a 186 percent increase in the time those visitors spent on the site.
