An agreement has been reached between Canada and the Tsawwassen First Nation regarding the English Bluff Specific Claim.
Initially submitted in 2013, the claim relates to the government’s failure to adequately compensate or protect the Nation during the sale of reserve lands in the 50s.
Last November, the Nation signed the settlement agreement, and it has now been ratified and signed by Ottawa as well.
In total, the Nation will receive $7.7 million in financial compensation from the settlement.
