Interior Health will be flying black balloons in communities across the region to honour those lost to the illicit overdose crisis.
Tomorrow marks the 6 year anniversary of the province declaring a public health emergency after years of increasing overdose counts.
Since then, more than 9,000 British Columbians have lost their lives to the toxic drug supply in the province.
In honour of the anniversary, the Authority will float black balloons, inspired by International Black Balloon Day, which takes place on March 6th.
Similarly, that day seeks to spread awareness and honour those lost to overdose.
Residents and business owners may also join in by flying black balloons outside their own homes and businesses.
