By committing $240,000 to two major Shames Mountain infrastructure projects, the Prince Rupert Port Authority has helped make the ski hill safer and more up to date in terms of it’s infrastructure.
The first project was the addition of a new conveyor lift, which replaced the old tow rope system that was difficult to use for disabled people as well as beginners.
The total cost of that project was $695,000, 80,000 of which was paid for by the Port Authority’s Community Investment Fund.
The Fund also committed $160,000 to expand the mountain’s parking lot and make the facilities easier to access for patrons.
