After a two year absence, cruise vessels are set to return to the Port of Prince Rupert next month.
Today, the Prince Rupert Port Authority not only announced the return, but also unveiled their 2022 cruise vessel schedule.
Prince Rupert will see its first cruise vessel come through on May 29th, and the last on September 23rd.
Cruise ship sailings have been closed for the majority of the past two years, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
But, alongside the Association of Port Authorities, and Ottawa, the Port has developed a set of safety protocols to allow the return.
Some of those enhanced measures include: vaccination mandates for crewmembers and passengers, enhanced hygiene practices, and passenger screening and testing requirements based on the best available science.
In total, the schedule includes 26 cruise vessels, covering approximately 14,000 passengers through September.
