A new Quesnel-based non-profit is feeding residents in need, while working to reduce food waste.
Since January, the GreenHope Society has saved an estimated 350 pounds of older but still edible food, later donating that food to community members in need.
Saving all that food has reduced CO2 emissions by nearly 1,600 pounds.
Some of the food collected by the Society has also been sent to the Salvation Army for use in their Warrior’s Song CafĂ©.
