The Gitxaala nation and Citywest have inked a deal that will see high speed internet coming to the community.
This will be a fibre optic system under a new company called the Gitxaala Citywest communications corporation. As part of the partnership between the two, profits from the new company will be sent to the First Nation resulting in direct financial benefits to community members.
Linda Innes, the chief councilor for the First Nations noted with the cable already on hand in the community, the project is ready to move forward on the fibre to home network.

The first phase of the project will get underway in the next few months.
