Funding is now available for people who want to be a part of the impact assessment process for the proposed Eskay Creek Revitalization Project.
The project in question is an open-pit gold and silver mine northwest of Stewart, which would produce up to three million tonnes of ore per year with a lifespan between 13 to 16 years.
As of right now, the project is undergoing Environmental and Impact Assessments, and Ottawa is looking for input from the public and Indigenous peoples.
In order to allow interested parties to help with the process, Ottawa has made funding available via the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada.
Applications must be sent in by March 3rd and can be sent to the email address on fp-paf@iaac-aeic.gc.ca or by calling 1-866-582-1884.
