Plans to bring a full-time, local, ambulance service to the Nass Valley are making progress.
BC Emergency Health Services will be providing the Nisga’a Valley Health Authority with a reconditioned ambulance.
That ambulance will be based out of a station equipped for 24 hour operation in the Village of Laxgalts’ap.
Currently Nisga’a Emergency Medical Transportation is in the process of completing certification to operate in BC.
Plans are for the service to feature four paramedics alongside the reconditioned ambulance.
The plan is a joint effort between the Nisga’a Lisims Government, their four villages, and the First Nations Health Authority, alongside the Valley’s Health Authority, and BCEHS.
