December 24th Covid-19 Update, BC Passes 2,000 Daily Cases for First Time

British Columbia is reporting 2,046 new cases of Covid-19, as of last night, breaking the daily 2,000 case mark for the first time.

That brings the province’s active case total to 8,739, with 195 in hospital, and 75 in ICU.

Of the new cases, 53 come from Northern Health, while 123 are from the Interior.

One new death was reported with none in either the North or Interior.

There are now 975 confirmed cases of the Omicron variant in BC, though with long test wait lines in the South, that number could jump.

Four of the Omicron cases are in Northern Health, and 19 in the Interior.
