The province has gladly accepted the five billion dollars given to them by the Federal Government to help with flood disaster relief.
Selina Robinson, BC’s Finance Minister has stated that the amount of money given to BC to help with recovering from the floods is reflective of how extreme this disaster was.
Robinson also said that this funding is an initial provision from the Federal Government and the assessment of how much it will take to fully rebuild the damage done is still ongoing.
The amount of funds being given to BC was revealed yesterday in Federal Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland’s fiscal update.
