During last night’s regular meeting, Council approved a development permit to rebuild the Keith Avenue Tim Horton’s, which burned down in April.
With the exception of a larger patio, the building, including parking and drive thru orientation, will match that of the former facility.
In terms of design, the new restaurant will incorporate the chain’s hockey arena theme.
Work on the building is expected to begin next spring, and a re-opening of the restaurant is planned for next September.
Council suggested repainting parking lot markings, as well as adding zebra style crossing lines to improve pedestrian safety.
