An influx of Tahltan children will be hitting the youth hockey scene, thanks to one man’s generosity.
Tahltan Central Government President Chad Day announced yesterday that he would be paying the minor hockey league registration fees for all Tahltan youth.
That means up to 80 children from communities like Iskut, Dease Lake, and Telegraph Creek will be able to hit the ice.
Day has been a strong proponent of keeping youth active and healthy since taking over as President.
He founded the Healthy Active Tahltans initiative back in 2014.
