The Public Safety Minister has sent out a statement saying that the worst parts of the storms that caused flooding and landslides may be over but BC will have to deal with a long rebuild in the aftermath of those events.
Mike Farnworth stated that the work ahead will include repairing transportation routes along with repairing damaged farms and helping thousands of residents get back to their homes.
Farnworth also said that over 14-thousand people have been evacuated since the first storm began back in November.
Meanwhile, Lana Popham, BC’s Agriculture Minister, gave a statement of her own, saying that hundreds of thousands of livestock animals perished during the floods.
