It’s been a rough couple of days for those living on BC’s coasts, and it isn’t going to get any better today.
A High Streamflow Advisory initially issued on Monday for the North Coast will continue today, covering Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Hartley Bay, Kemano, and surrounding tributaries.
In addition, much of the Cariboo now find themselves under their own High Streamflow Advisory, issued for the areas around Williams Lake, Quesnel, and 100 Mile, as well as the North Thompson area.
An advisory issued for the Central Coast yesterday has been upgraded to a Flood Watch for the areas around Bella Coola, and surrounding waters.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Central Coast is also expected to see up to 150 mm of rain, prompting a rain fall warning there.
Travel advisories remain in place on Highway 37 between the Gitanyow North Access, and Burrage River Bridge, as well as on Highway 37A between Hyder and Meziadin.
Highway 20 is also facing a travel advisory between Bella Coola and Anahim Lake.
