If you thought we were clear of the rough weather, the BC River Forecast Centre and Environment Canada have some bad news for you.
Flood watches are currently in place along much of the south and central coasts, including Bella Coola and its surrounding rivers and tributaries.
This morning, the River Forecast Centre also re-issued a high streamflow advisory for the North Coast, covering Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Hartley Bay, Kemano, and surrounding tributaries.
Rainfall warnings are in place for the Central Coast, with as much as 120 mm expected in Bella Coola and Bella Bella.
While some rain is expected in the North, it isn’t enough to prompt a warning, though Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii are both under wind warnings, with gusts up to 100 km/h.
Road conditions will remain both wet and slippery across most of the North, and drivers should avoid long trips unless completely necessary.
