Over $185,000 in grants have been announced to assist North Coast communities with wildfire planning and education.
NDP MLA for the North Coast Jennifer Rice says that, “People in rural communities know the importance of being prepared for fire season.”
The grants going to North Coast include, over $24,000 for North Coast Regional District, $24,000 for the District of Kitimat and $136,704 for the City of Terrace. Kitimat, Terrace and the North Coast Regional District are some of almost 90 local governments and First Nations throughout B.C. that are benefiting from almost $9 million in new provincial grants.
