An arson investigation is now underway as the fire that destroyed the Terrace Bowling Centre late last month has been deemed suspicious by fire investigators and the RCMP.
The City of Terrace has just shared that the blaze started outside, on the front north corner of the building.
Two persons of interest have been identified by the RCMP, but no details about them have been made public at this time. That said, the City has asked anyone with any information about what happened outside the bowling ally in the early morning hours of May 21st, 2026, to contact the Terrace RCMP detachment.
‘Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by the loss of a long-standing community landmark that created extraordinary memories for generations of Terrace residents.’ – Randi Fraser, City of Terrace Communications Advisor
The City has also confirmed that the building will be fully demolished and the site remediated, and they’ve asked the public to avoid the area while that work is underway.
