The BC Wildfire Service is responding to more fire starts in Northern B.C.
Twelve forefathers, heavy equipment, and a helicopter were called to a 140 hectare fire burning about 100 km south of Vanderhoof Monday not far form Chutanli Lake.
The wildfire has resulted in the closure of the Kluskus Forest Service Road from the 96 km to 100 km mark.
There is heavy smoke visible from surrounding communities, but none are threatened by the fire.
Smoke is also very visible from a smaller wildfire burning just one kilometre east of Valemount.
Officials say the 20 hectare fire is burning upslope toward the alpine and not threatening the village.
The BC Wildfire Service says there were reports of dry lightning in the Robson Valley Monday evening.
