A Ministry of Children and Family Development pilot project aiming for cheaper child care has received little interest from child care providers thus far.
The fee reduction pilot was announced earlier this month and so far, just 30 applications have been completed for the 18 hundred available slots.
Child Care Providers enrolled in the program would see their rates dropped to just 200 dollars per month over the course of the 18 month project, but according to providers, there are just too many hoops to jump through.
The province has invested 60 million dollars in the project which currently has an application deadline of July 9th.
There are over 100 thousand elligible child care providers in BC.
