The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) Status Card Administration team will be visiting Terrace from Monday, February 2nd to Friday, February 6th to offer in-community support for Indian Status registration and Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS) card applications and renewals. This initiative ensures low-barrier, culturally safe access for First Nations community members needing these important services.
For individuals registering for Indian Status, required documents include a birth certificate showing parental information, a valid government-issued ID, and any name-linking documents if there has been a legal name change since birth. For those renewing or applying for a SCIS card, a valid ID and relevant name-linking documents are necessary. A valid ID must be government-issued, not expired, and include the holder’s name, birthdate, photo, and signature. Examples include a driver’s license, health card, passport, Canadian military ID, or citizenship card.
The FNHA team will be located at the Kermode Friendship Society, 4714 Park Avenue, Terrace, with varying hours throughout the week, including a lunch break from 12 PM to 1 PM. For more information or inquiries, community members are encouraged to contact StatusCards@fnha.ca.
