Staffing Challenges are continuing to affect Emergency Department access at Hospitals across the North this week.
In Terrace, the Ksyen Regional Hospital gave a notice this past Friday, January 2nd, that they’re experiencing a higher than usual patient volume and have asked those with non urgent care needs to check in with their primary care provider first, or a virtual care clinic rather than the Emergency Department.
Emergency Department Services at the Fraser Lake Health Centre will also be unavailable today and tomorrow January 5th and 6th, resuming on Wednesday, January 8th, although Northern Health notes that the Health Centre’s Primary Care Clinic is not affected and will operate as usual.
On Haida Gwaii, Northern Haida Gwaii Hospital and Health Centre returned to regular hours at 8:00am this morning after a prolonged stint on reduced hours over the holidays.
