The Conservative Party is criticizing Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Liberals for leaving Canadians with higher costs, weaker public safety, and uncertainty on jobs. While the Liberals borrowed Conservative language on removing the consumer carbon tax, they raised industrial carbon taxes, maintained levies on food and fuel, and failed to deliver meaningful relief. Conservatives say families will pay nearly $1,000 more for groceries next year.
On housing, the party accuses the Liberals of abandoning promises to cut development charges, limiting construction to just 5,200 new homes annually. Conservatives also say public safety priorities are being neglected. They point to soft-on-crime bail policies, a costly gun buyback that fails to stop smuggling, and inaction on child protection following Supreme Court rulings.
Trade and economic concerns are also raised. Conservatives argue the government failed to secure tariff relief and allowed billions in corporate subsidies without job guarantees, putting Canadian workers at risk. On immigration, the party says Liberal policies are lenient toward illegal migrants and non-citizens convicted of serious offenses.
The Conservatives insist their plan will match words with action, delivering stronger take-home pay, safer streets, and a self-reliant Canada where families, workers, and communities are prioritized.
