Charges have been laid following a deadly shooting in Dawson Creek on Sunday, January 19. Nolan Douglas Schmidt, 23, has been charged with second-degree murder after a shooting that claimed one life and left another person injured. The shooting was not random, and those involved are known to each other. Investigators are continuing to look into related cases in the area. Authorities have thanked the community for their support and are still seeking any additional information that could aid the investigation. Schmidt remains in custody awaiting a court hearing.
