Kitimat’s community spirit was on full display December 7 during the RCMP’s Cram the Cruiser event at the No Frills parking lot.
By the end of the day, a police cruiser was packed with donations, including nine shopping carts full of food, toys, and essential items, along with $1,868 in cash contributions.
Families, individuals, and businesses came together to make the drive a resounding success.
A live podcast hosted inside the store added to the event’s impact, featuring local voices who highlighted the importance of the initiative and its role in supporting the food bank.
The RCMP’s Cram the Cruiser event is part of No Frills’ unique month-long campaign, “Biggest Haul of Them All,” aimed at supporting the Kitimat food bank.
The campaign combines in-store fundraising with community sponsorships to maximize its impact.
Throughout December, customers can make donations at the checkout, with all proceeds going directly to the food bank.
Local businesses and families can also purchase sponsorship packages starting at $200, which include recognition through in-store signage and social media mentions.
This community-driven effort highlights Kitimat’s dedication to helping those in need.
Thanks to strong community support, ongoing till donations, and the success of the Cram the Cruiser event, the “Biggest Haul of Them All” campaign is on track to reach its $20,000 goal.
