Unifor’s joining in the efforts to make forestry diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
Unifor has done so by signing a declaration that states six concrete steps forestry employers can take to meet those efforts.
Those six steps include implementing training on diversity, creating strategic diversity plans, and creating an accountability mechanism to track progress to catalogue effective practices.
As well, the six steps outline an effort to create a safe space by sharing experiences and holding discussions of diversity.
Unifor joins organizations like Interfor, Resolute, WorkSafe BC, and the BC First Nations Forestry Council in signing the declaration which is supported by several other provinces.
