Prince Rupert is among five communities hosting a new pilot program to help those recovering from mental health and addictions challenges.
Through the program, clients undergoing treatment at select facilities will gain access to employment services as part of the recovery process.
It will provide skills training, job search support, and a range of interventions to help individuals gently transition to and thrive in their communities.
333 Recovery Homes in Prince Rupert is operating six beds under the program, which officially launched this Spring, and will run for three years.
Other sites will be hosted by Nanaimo, Penticton, Kamloops, and Vernon, thanks to $4.9 million from the Canadian Mental Health Association.
