Most evacuation orders have been lifted in the Peace Region, as crews continue to find success fighting the Province’s largest wildfires.
While it is now covering nearly 135,000 kms, the Donnie Creek fire in the Tommy Lakes area, is no longer prompting any evacuation orders.
Most orders issued for the Stoddart and Red Creek fires, now covering a combined 33,000 hectares have also been downgraded.
Alerts for those three fires remain in effect from Cache Creek east to Montney Creek, and from Charlie Lake north to Prespatou.
But evacuation orders issued by the Blueberry River First Nation in relation to those burns do remain in place.
Meanwhile, the 23,000 hectare Klua Lakes is prompting evacuation orders and alerts east of Prophet River.
