There are more than 40 active wildfires burning across BC as much of the province gets set to welcome unseasonably warm temperatures.
Little information is available on a human-caused blaze just south of Granisle, first reported last night.
While the size of the fire along the banks of Babine Lake is unknown, it is listed as out of control by the Wildfire Service.
Meanwhile, there are 19 active fires in the Prince George Fire Centre, including the Province’s only three wildfires of note.
One of those is the Boundary Lake fire, burning east of Fort St John near the Alberta border, which has grown to nearly 6,200 hectares.
It is currently prompting an evacuation alert from Cecil Lake through to the border, and an evac order five Goodlow area properties.
West of there and north of Charlie Lake, the Red Creek fire has now grown to cover nearly 2,800 hectares.
Numerous properties in the Red Creek and Lower Cache areas are covered under both evacuation alerts and orders.
Information on all of the evacuation alerts can be found at this link, and info on the orders at this one.
A third fire of note is still burning near McBride, but is listed as being held.
