The Dawson Creek RCMP are investigating after a side by side rolled and ejected seceral occupants last week.
On Thursday June 4th at 1:03pm Dawson Creek RCMP were called to a report of a side by side tollover at the 137000-block of 207 Rad in Pouce Coupe.
RCMP say at the time there was five children in the vehicle when the driver lost control.
Resulting in the vehicle rolling several times over a considerable distance.
An 8-year-old boy was pronounced deceased at the scene while the driver, a 7-year-old girl, was airlifted to hospital in critical condition.
RCMP said the three other occupants suffered minor injuries.
Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the 7-year-old girl later succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
“As a parent, I cannot fathom the unimaginable and tragic loss these families have suffered,” Our hearts go out to everyone who was impacted by this unthinkable event.” -Staff Sergeant Kris Clark of the BC RCMP.
