A new fire protection agreement has been signed between the City of Williams Lake and the Williams Lake First Nation.
That agreement covers the Nation’s San Jose Reserve #6, which is home to their new Sugar Cane Cannabis operation.
It is also the planned home for future developments, such as the multi-purpose Osprey Nest, which will feature housing among other amenities.
Under the agreement, the City will provide fire protection to the land for five years, with the option to add two additional five year terms.
A $10,000 fee will be charged for the first year of the agreement, with annual increases based on inflation for the remainder of the agreement.
