The province has a new record for COVID-19 hospitalizations.
In a statement today, the Health Ministry announced there are 397 people in hospital because of the virus, with 120 in intensive care. Currently, there are 9,821 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C.
The statement also announced 1,168 new cases of COVID-19, with 26 of them in the Northern Health Region. Sadly, six new deaths were also announced.
Vaccination numbers continue to rise, with 1,190,832 doses already administered, 87,820 of which are second doses. As of today, anyone 55 years old and older is now eligible for the vaccine, and health officials urge all those eligible to get one.
