A ten-foot Brother Pole is currently underway to represent, acknowledge and memorialize all the MIssing and Murdered Indigenous Men and Boys. The pole is following the raising of a Grandmother Pole on Kitsumkalum Territory in September 2020.
Families and communities are now seeking support to build two ten-foot Sister poles that will stand at either end of the Highway of Tears. One of the poles will be in Prince George and the other will be in Prince Rupert. A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover the cost of each pole. Each of the Sister Poles will cost $34,000 which includes materials, master carving and an honorarium for a safe support person for families of MMIWG/ MMIMB/ 2SLGBTQ+
