The civilian, non-profit, charitable program is now the Northern BC Crime Stoppers Society. The change of name reflects the program’s plans to extend its service area to other communities.
Each Crime Stoppers in B.C. is community-based. The Prince George Crime Stoppers Association was formed in 1985 and recently has been getting an increasing number of tips from other communities in Northern B.C..
Currently, there are only four Crime Stoppers programs in British Columbia north of Kamloops: Northern BC Crime Stoppers, Bulkley Valley Crime Stoppers, Terrace Crime Stoppers, and Prince Rupert Crime Stoppers.
Northern BC Crime Stoppers is independent of police and is run by everyday citizens. If you have any tips or information you can report them online at pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca.
