The City of Quesnel and Cupe 1050 have ratified a new collective agreement.
This agreement covers the inside and outside workers in Public Works and Community Services, City Hall and RCMP Detachment.
Mayor Bob Simpson says in a statement, “Council appreciates the collaborative efforts of the City’s management team and the Union’s bargaining team which led to this new collective agreement. In this time of uncertainty, obtaining a four-year settlement provides both wage stability to our unionized workers and greater budgeting certainty for our ratepayers.”
The four year term is effective June 8, 2020 and will expire on June 7 of 2024. There will be a wage increase of 7.5 percent over 4 years.
The collective agreement for CUPE 1050-01 still remains to be negotiated. This primarily covers the recreation staff
